Black Friday is over. And whether you were one of the hundreds (or even millions) of shoppers who trooped (or even camped!) to the shops to try to get the best deals, or stayed at home and sat the momentous shopping day out, it’s no question that Black Friday is one, if not the most, anticipated day for shoppers in America.
We have seen the best and worst of Black Fridays. People would line up a day (or even days!) before the big sale outside stores to get first in line and the best deals shops have to offer. People would shop or stock up on items that they either need or just want to get their hands on because they are on ridiculous sales. It’s both fun and amazing seeing the throngs of people lining up outside the stores and dashing in to beat everyone else to the best items, but a fight or a stampede are also big likelihoods in shopping frenzies like these so I hope no one got hurt during this year’s Black Friday sale.
A lot has been said and written about this shopping phenomenon. Even days before the big event, the whole web is bombarded with Black Friday articles and news ranging from tips on how to get the best deals to the origin and facts about it, even to myths and should one do Black Friday or not. So I know you’ve read and know them all. Even online shops are offering the biggest sales for as low as up to 75% discount for people who prefer the convenience of shopping at home as opposed to fighting their way through and out of the shopping mobs and even possible ending up not getting the item they wish. But then again, there’s a certain thrill and rush in going out there, camping out and fighting it out to get the best bargain shopping item you can get your hands on. The choice is entirely up to you.
Since the shopping event of the year is over, I’m not going to offer any tips or facts about Black Friday anymore because as I’ve said, I think everything has been said and written about it. Instead, I’m just going to ask a few questions as a sort of review and even reflection if you may, on the recent shopping spree and evaluate yourself based on your answers. This is nothing serious or strict, just something to reflect on amid the great Black Friday sale.
1. Did you shop on Black Friday, either out in stores or online, or not, thinking it’s just like any other big sale?
2. If you did shop, did you buy just one particular item you’ve been dreaming of for the longest time, or did you buy anything and everything on sale you can get your hands on?
3. Even if you shopped or not, do you think one gets his or hers’ money’s worth on Black Friday sales?
4. Do you prefer going out there with the mob, even camping out, to get the best deals on Black Friday, or stay at home and shop online where it’s convenient and quiet, away from all the chaos?
5. Do you do Black Fridays alone or with you family and/ or friends?
6. Do you take Black Fridays seriously or participate just for the fun of it because of all the hype around it?
7. What particular items do you aim for on Black Fridays? Electronic gadgets, clothes, appliances, cellphones, children’s toys, shoes, etc.?
8. Do you think Black Friday is the biggest, best sale there is or it’s just as good as other big sales?
9. What store/s, in your opinion, offer the greatest Black Friday discounts/ offers?
10. Are you going to do Black Friday next year? Why?
If you answered yes to most or all of the questions, it means you’re a Black Friday fanatic and will go out there every year to get the best sales ever! If not, either you don’t want to trouble yourself camping out, falling in ridiculously long lines, and fight it out with a shopping mob, or you think Black Friday is just a big media hype that people jump on to and any other sales are just as good. Either way, Black Friday is unmistakably the biggest shopping phenomenon there is that, either you practice it or not, gets people from all walks of life and ages together for one whole day of big and crazy shopping frenzy!
