Recycling isn’t only environmentally-friendly, it’s also fun. Yes, whether we want to admit it or not, recycling is turning out to be a popular activity especially nowadays since not only are we helping Mother Earth by turning seemingly old and useless stuff into something new and useful, our creative side is also encouraged. You’re saving the Earth, you’re being creative, and you’ve got something new! Now what could possibly be better than that?
Here are a few suggestions on what you can do with your old stuff that are seemingly old and useless but will turn out to surprise you!
Art Pieces. Things that you think are useless and need to be thrown out may turn out to be still useful and in fact promising. Old toys, paper bags, and trinkets can be put to good use as art materials and pieces for any creative activity you may think of. Whether you use painting or assembled art piece as your creative outlet, “nothing speaks like a true masterpiece than recycled and reused objects.”
Wrapping Paper. Do you own a magazine collection composed of old issues that you don’t really need? Instead of throwing them out, use them as wrapping paper for presents or for just about any occasion that calls for a nicely wrapped gift. You can even use the pages of these magazines to wrap your school books and notebooks. Choose funky designs and colorful patterns and you’ll have an environmentally-friendly, totally unique school stuff!
Books as Furniture. Books as furniture? This may seem strange and even impossible, but if done properly, it might just work. Old books can be turned into a short stool. In fact, given the right materials, books can really be transformed into a sturdy piece of furniture.
Mixing Function and Fashion. Old jeans and shirts? Turn them into bags or any new designs for even more jeans and shirts! It’s all in the way you mix and match your fashion wardrobe into something new and unique each time. Combine new clothes with old or recycled stuff in your closet and what you have is a new, one-of-a-kind fashion trend!
With these in mind, not only did you help save Mother Earth, save your money, but you have also created something totally new, creative and beautiful from something seemingly old and useless!
